Chelsea loanee Anjorin makes full Championship debut for Huddersfield Town
Published: August 06, 2022Chelsea loanee Faustino Anjorin made his full Championship debut on Friday night as Huddersfield Town suffered a 2-1 loss to Birmingham City on matchday two in the division.
Prior to the trip to the St. Andrew's Stadium, the England U20 international of Nigerian descent had recorded eight appearances in the second tier with all of them coming off the bench.
In his first stint at the Terriers in the second half of last season, Anjorin's minutes were being managed after recovering from a broken metatarsal suffered in training at Lokomotiv Moscow.
Scott Hogan, with a superb diving header, opened the scoring five minutes into the game, Przemyslaw Placheta doubled the advantage just before halftime and Danny Ward pulled one back at minute 61.
Blues defender Auston Trusty was booked in the 58th minute for holding Anjorin around the waist after he was dribbled past.
In the 66th minute, the Anglo-Nigerian midfielder missed a chance to equalise as he blasted the ball over the bar before he was replaced ten minutes later.
Friday's clash against Birmingham City was also Anjorin's first start for Huddersfield Town in all competitions.
