'A different red and white' - Arsenal's Nigeria-eligible striker reacts after sealing loan transfer
Published: August 04, 2022England U21 international of Nigerian descent Folarin Balogun has taken to social media to react to his transfer to French Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims.
The six-time French champions announced on Wednesday the arrival on loan of the Anglo-American-Nigerian centre-forward, without an option to buy included in the deal.
Reims needed to reinforce their attacking options following the transfer of their top scorer last season, Hugo Ekitike to Paris Saint-Germain and the Arsenal striker has been chosen by the club's leadership.
Balogun was loaned to Middlesbrough in the Championship during the second half of 2021-2022, and he didn't do badly with a goal involvement of six in eighteen appearances in the second tier of English football.
The Hale End Academy graduate has been assigned the number 29 jersey for the forthcoming season.
Two-time European Cup runners-up Reims wear the famous red-and-white strip, same as the colours worn by Arsenal.
Reacting to his transfer to Reims, Balogun posted on Twitter : "A different red and white but same commitment".
