Tottenham pushing to sign Italy prospect of Nigerian descent; Brighton, Man City also interested
Published: August 03, 2022According to reports from the Italian press, Tottenham Hotspur have not given up in their pursuit of Italy hopeful of Nigerian descent Destiny Udogie.
Sky Sport Italia reported on Wednesday evening that Tottenham are still interested in the Udinese wonderkid and are hoping to reach an agreement with the Little Zebras that would see the wingback signed on a permanent deal and loaned to the Italian club for the whole of the 2022-2023 season.
Tottenham Hotspur are willing to pay Udinese a transfer fee of 25 million euros including bonuses.
But they face competition to sign the talented teenager, with Brighton & Hove, Manchester City and Inter Milan also showing interest.
Udogie is considered one of the top young talents in European football at the moment and made a splash in last season's Serie A with a goal involvement of eight (5 goals, 3 assists) in thirty-five appearances.
The Verona native has caps for Italy at U16, U17, U18, U19 and U21 levels and is leaning towards representing gli Azzurri over the Super Eagles at senior level, having stated that his target is to join the team coached by Roberto Mancini.
His contract with Udinese expires at the end of the 2025-2026 season.
