Bayern Munich's Dutch-Nigerian attacker attracting interest from English clubs
Published: July 28, 2022Netherlands U21 captain of Nigerian descent Joshua Zirkzee is being linked with a departure from Bayern Munich before the close of the summer transfer window.
According to celebrated German sports magazine, Kicker, Zirkzee is attracting interest from unnamed English clubs but no offers have been made for the striker at the moment.
The Dutch-Nigerian put himself in the shop window after a successful loan spell at RSC Anderlecht, where he directly participated in 31 goals (18 goals, 13 assists) in 47 appearances.
Bayern Munich are open to the sale of Zirkzee provided his asking price is met by one of his suitors.
The 21-year-old was named in Bayern's Tour 2022 squad to the United States, where he featured in friendlies against DC United and Manchester City and was on target against the MLS team.
Bayern Munich have done business with Premier League clubs this summer, with Marc Roca, Omar Richards and Chris Richards joining Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace respectively.
Zirkzee has one year left on his contract with Bayern Munich, whom he joined from Feyenoord.
