Shoretire involved in Manchester United's final training session before start of Tour 2022
Published: July 08, 2022New Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has monitored Nigeria-eligible attacking midfielder Shola Shoretire at close quarters with a view to his possible inclusion in the traveling squad to Thailand for the start of Tour 2022, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Dutch football tactician ran the rule over the Anglo-Nigerian youngster during his team's final training session at Carrington Training Ground on Thursday, July 07, 2022 before the trip to Asia.
The fact that Shoretire has been training with the first team since the start of pre-season preparations has brightened his chances of being picked for Tour 2022.
The players and staff selected for the tour will jet off to Bangkok from Manchester Airport on Friday, four days before their first pre-season game against Liverpool.
Tour 2022 also involves trips to Melbourne and Perth in Australia, and Oslo in Norway, with games against Melbourne Victory, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Atlético de Madrid lined up.
If included in the Tour 2022 squad, Shoretire needs to impress Ten Hag to earn a promotion to Manchester United's first team on a permanent basis.
The 18-year-old has totaled five career appearances for the first team but has yet to make his full debut.
