'Possesses many of same traits' - Crystal Palace urged to sign Aribo as replacement for Chelsea star

In an opinion article by The Athletic UK's Sebastian Stafford-Bloor, Crystal Palace have been urged to firm up their interest in Glasgow Rangers star Joe Aribo.
Manager Patrick Vieira is believed to be in the market for a central midfielder as a replacement for Conor Gallagher, who has returned to Chelsea following the expiry of his season-long loan spell at the Eagles.
Mali national teamer Cheick Doucoure is Crystal Palace's top priority to reinforce the midfield and the Eagles are confident they can get the deal over the line.
In the event that the deal does not happen, the Athletic UK has identified Aribo as Palace's Plan B.
The Nigeria international is in the final twelve months of his contract at the Ibrox Stadium and is not keen on his extending his stay, amid interest from English Premier League clubs.
Highlighting why Aribo should be signed, the Athletic wrote : "Aribo’s career has accelerated dramatically since leaving Charlton back in 2019.
"He has become a Nigeria international and would fit Palace’s midfield perfectly. He is used in several ways by Rangers – as a winger, as an attacking midfielder – but he is most effective in the wide central midfield position and it is from there he possesses many of the same traits as Gallagher."
Apart from Crystal Palace, Aribo is also on the radar of Premier League new boys Nottingham Forest and Fulham.
