U17 WAFU B Ghana 2 Nigeria 4 : Four takeaways from Golden Eaglets win
Published: June 11, 2022
Following the Golden Eaglets 4-2 win over Ghana in their 2022 WAFU U-17 Zone B Tournament opener, allnigeriasoccer.com brings you four takeaways from the match at Cape Coast Stadium, Cape Coast.
Tiring Eaglets
The team suffered some burnouts towards the end of the game and gave away silly fouls.
Their passes were also sloppy and were lucky not to have conceded just twice.
Porous Defending
Left back Emmanuel Michael scored a fantastic free kick - unleashing a powerful shot from about 25 yards.
However the Ghanaians exploited his position more often where they created most of their chances from. Needs to be improved.
Light Eke Is Kevwe's Real Challenger For Number 9 Spot
Substitute Light Eke lived up to his amazing name as he came off the bench to score Nigeria's fourth goal.
He almost scored with his first touch of the ball before his strike.
Eke is good and it might be best to pair him with first choice Kevwe Iyede.
Richard Odoh
The goalkeeper Richard Odoh had a very encouraging game as he pulled some outstanding saves in the game.
His distribution was also good but it was a bit curious why he did not attempt to dive for the penalty he conceded.
Good prospect nonetheless.
