NFF foot medical bills of Baba Otu Mohammed, once regarded as Africa's best right winger

Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that the Nigeria Football Federation on Wednesday, 1st June 2022 paid half a million naira to the family of ailing former Nigeria International winger Baba Otu Mohammed who has been bedridden for sometime now.
According to another former winger and one-time Mighty Jets great, Abbas Jimoh, the money is for Baba Otu's medical bills.
In a chat with Jimoh this morning he made the confirmation.
"Yes Ferdinand, what they told you is the truth.
"the NFF gave us five hundred thousand naira yesterday to sort part of his medical bills and we really appreciate the gesture".
When asked about Baba Otu's present health situation Jimoh had this to say :
"His condition has improved drastically and has been removed from life-support machine but is still on Intensive care unit".
Baba Otu Mohammed has been in the intensive care unit of the Bingham University Teaching hospital in Jos since late March where he has been receiving treatment for failing health challenges.
Born in Ghana and started his football career in the Ghanaian city of Kumasi, Baba Otu Mohammed later relocated to the country of his parents, Nigeria.
He rose to become one of Nigeria's most gifted footballers of all times and won two bronze medals with Nigeria as the Nigeria senior national team, the Green Eagles won her first Africa Cup of Nations medal at the 1976 Games in Addis Ababa Ethiopia and was voted Africa's best right winger after the tournament.
He also helped Nigeria to win a consecutive bronze at the 1978 Games in Accra, Ghana.
After retiring from active football he has been involved in the development of the game at grassroot levels in Kano and Jos.
