2017 Super Eagles invitee Anthony Nwakaeme has provided an update on his future with Trabzonspor amid speculation linking him with a departure from the Super Lig champions in the summer transfer window.
The 33-year-old has been one of the most consistent Nigerian players in Europe over the last four seasons, scoring 46 goals and registering 40 assists in 144 all-competition appearances for Trabzonspor.
His future has been the subject of speculation at home and abroad, with his contract at Trabzonspor running out on June 30, 2022.
Nwakaeme has made it clear that he's happy at Trabzonspor and the striker is hoping to continue playing for the club next season, subject to him agreeing fresh terms.
Speaking to İhlas News Agency, via Fanatik, Nwakaeme said : "This is my situation. The negotiations here continue between Trabzonspor, me and the president.
"Of course, I am happy here and I want to stay here. There are talks and we will see what happens at the end of the talks."
Nwakaeme's previous clubs include FC Universitatea Cluj, Petrolul Ploiesti, Ariesul Turda, Hapoel Raanana and Hapoel Beer Sheva.
