Who is better : Osimhen or Vlahovic? Napoli coach joins debate after Nigerian's brace
Published: March 13, 2022Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti has joined the debate on who is the better player between Victor Osimhen and Juventus scoring sensation Dušan Vlahović.
The Nigeria international took his tally for the season to thirteen in all competitions after scoring in each half as Napoli defeated Verona 2-1 at Stadio M. A. Bentegodi on Sunday.
Osimhen gave Napoli the lead with a thumping header in the 14th minute and doubled the advantage in the 71st minute when he swept the ball home after a quickly taken throw-in.
Serbia striker Vlahovic has 24 goals to his name but has played nine games more than Osimhen in 2021-2022.
At the end of the match, Verona coach Igor Tudor said Vlahović is better than Osimhen but Spalletti chose to be diplomatic and highlighted the qualities of the two young strikers instead.
"I don't make comparisons. Vlahovic is a champion and if a club like Juventus picks him up it is a sign that he has everything to be able to play at that level there," Spalleti told DAZN via Tutto Juve.
"Osimhen is a top player, he has everything from his, like his age. He's a good guy, he does everything he can, he wants to be available for his teammates".
Osimhen is Napoli's top scorer in the Serie A with nine goals and scored the most goals for the Blues before they were eliminated from the Europa League by Barcelona.
