Official : Osimhen ruled out of Napoli's showdown with Ronaldo's Juventus, pending appeal
Published: August 24, 2021Napoli have informed via their official website that Victor Osimhen has been given a two-game ban following his red card against Venezia on Sunday, August 22.
The Super Eagles striker took the walk of shame for struggling vehemently with his marker
Venezia midfielder Daan Heymans in a corner kick situation.
Midway through the first half, the ex-Lille star waved his arm and slapped the opponent in the face.
Osimhen is set to miss Napoli's trip to Genoa (August 29) and the big clash against Cristiano Ronaldo's Juventus on September 11 - the Blues' first match after the first international break of the 2021-2022 season.
Napoli are looking to overturn the two-game suspension given to their number nine and have stated that they will make an appeal.
In his first season in Italy, Osimhen was shown four yellow cards in the Italian top-flight and was not available for selection against Rijeka in the group stage of the Europa League after picking up a red card for two bookable offenses in the closing minutes of the 1-0 win at Real Sociedad.
