Allnigeriasoccer.com's round-up of the
Nigerian players that found the net for their respective clubs
in league matches across Europe on Monday, August 16.
In the Turkish Super Lig, it took 2017 Super Eagles invitee Anthony Nwakaeme less than twelve minutes to open his account for the 2021-2022 campaign as Trabzonspor demolished Yeni Malatyaspor 5-1 at the Yeni Malatya Stadyumu (Malatya).
Nwakaeme slotted home for a 2-0 lead after the ball was put on a plate for him by Djaniny and Gervinho killed the game as a contest by scoring Trabzonspor's third goal in the 29th minute after a through ball from his Nigerian teammate.
Having received a yellow card midway through the first half, Nwakaeme was replaced with 20 minutes left on the clock.
2016 Rio Olympics bronze medalist, Umar Sadiq picked up where he left off last season by scoring Almeria's first goal of the new Segunda Division campaign in their 3-1 road win over FC Cartagena at the Estadio Municipal Cartagonova.
Sadiq held off two Cartagena defenders and tapped the ball into the left post to open the scoring in the 19th minute.
Twenty six minutes from time, the former Roma striker charged in recklessly on David Andújar and as a result of that was shown a yellow card by referee Aitor Gorostegui.
