Onyekuru in contention to make Olympiakos debut in UCLQ against Ludogorets
Published: August 09, 2021
Henry Onyekuru could make his competitive debut for Olympiakos in Tuesday's Champions League third qualifying round fixture against Bulgarian outfit Ludogorets.
The Super Eagles winger was selected in the traveling squad to Bulgaria following the conclusion of training at Rentis Training Center on Monday morning.
Olympiakos forced Ludogorets to a 1-1 draw in the first leg staged at Stadio Georgios Karaiskáki, with Aguibou Camara's late equaliser in the 87th minute cancelling out Despodov’s goal.
Though Onyekuru's transfer was completed before the first leg, he couldn't help his team as the match came too soon for him.
Should the former Monaco man play his first game for the Legends, he will be wearing the number seven jersey.
Onyekuru is still searching for his first goal in European competitions after firing blanks in eleven Champions League group stage games and two Europa League matches.
Tomorrow's meeting between Ludogorets and Olympiakos is scheduled to begin at 1900 hours at Huvepharma Arena (Razgrad).
