Catalan daily sports newspaper, based in Barcelona, L'Esportiu, has cleared the air surrounding the mysterious absence of Oshoala, saying the Super Falcon is not in the squad after contracting coronavirus.
The four-time African Women's Footballer of the Year did not authorize Barcelona to disclose her medical condition to the public.
Barcelona detected the positive case on Monday, in their first training session in pre-season, and since then Oshoala has been isolating at home.
The Blaugranes will face Elche in their first friendly on August 4 at the Pinatar Arena (Murcia).
