Report: Mikel in advanced talks to join Kuwait SC in 'most expensive deal' in Kuwaiti league history

According to reports emanating from the Arabic press, former Chelsea star John Obi Mikel is set to join Kuwaiti Premier League side Kuwait Sporting Club.
Greentidekw making reference to Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida claims that the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner has agreed personal terms with Kuwait SC.
The report added that Mikel will sign for two seasons for four million dollars (approximately N1.99 billion) , which represents the most expensive deal in the history of the Kuwaiti League.
The Champions League and Europa League winner with Chelsea was among the players retained by the Potters at the end of last season, with the club activating the option to extend his stay at the bet365 Stadium.
Kuwait SC signing Mikel would be a statement of shown by the club as he is one of the famous names in African football, having played for Nigeria at the U17, U20 and senior World Cups as well as the Olympic Games.
Now 34, the defensive midfielder made 41 appearances in all competitions for Stoke City last term.
Mikel's other clubs include Plateau United, Lyn Oslo, Tianjin Jinmen Tiger, Trabzonspor and Middlesbrough FC.
