Super Eagles goalkeeper voted Sparta Rotterdam's Player of the Season for 2020-2021

Maduka Okoye has been awarded Sparta Rotterdam's Player of the Season for the 2020-2021 campaign after winning the poll that is voted on by the supporters, informs the official website of the Eredivise club.
The Super Eagles goalkeeper received the prize on Wednesday morning from Sparta Rotterdam's Director of Football Henk van Stee.
Prior to the start of last season, former Fortuna Düsseldorf, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayer 04 Leverkusen youth-teamer Okoye had never played a top-flight match in his professional career.
The German-born youngster kept ten clean sheets in 28 appearances in the league, helping Sparta Rotterdam qualify for the semifinals of the Conference League playoffs.
Having broken into the starting lineup in November, Okoye put in a string of fine displays for De Kasteelheren and arguably the highlight of his performance was in the away win at VVV Venlo, where he made an unbelievable last minute save to prevent the opponents from equalising.
The 21-year-old Okoye has gone the distance in seven of the last eight matches played by the Super Eagles.
