Qatari club desperately want to sign Super Eagles captain
Published: June 25, 2021
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that an unnamed Qatar Stars League club desperately want to sign Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa in the summer transfer window.
The former Leicester City winger is currently on the books of Nigerian Professional Football League giants Kano Pillars, with whom he signed a short team deal in April 2021.
Musa is only maintaining his fitness at Kano Pillars and would be allowed to depart the four-time Nigerian champions at short notice if he receives an offer from a foreign club.
The Qatari club started transfer talks with Musa's agent, Tony Harris two days ago but there are two stumbling blocks standing in the way of a deal happening.
The former CSKA Moscow star has been offered more than three million euros by the QSL club - far less the amount he earned at his last foreign club - and the second hurdle to be crossed is that he is not really interested in returning to the Middle East as a move to a top European League is his priority and he's willing to take a pay cut for that to happen.
Musa was left out of the Super Eagles roster for the friendly against Mexico ahead of a possible move to a foreign club.
