Venezia still have work to do to sign Super Eagles fullback Ebuehi
Published: June 23, 2021
Newly-promoted Italian Serie A side Venezia are pushing to sign Nigeria international Tyronne Ebuehi.
Italian transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio broke the news that the Benfica fullback is joining Gli Arancioneroverdi on loan with a purchase clause inserted into the deal, pending a physical.
Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that Venezia is an option Ebuehi's intermediary is working on but nothing has been concluded yet.
The versatile defender is on the wishlist of other unnamed clubs in the summer transfer window, apart from Venezia and FC Twente.
The possibility of Ebuehi leaving Benfica permanently this summer has been ruled out as his representatives are discussing only loan deals with the clubs interested in his signature.
Prior to joining the Portuguese Primeira Liga powerhouse, he starred for the youth teams of DSOV, SV Hoofddorp, VV Young Boys and HFC EDO, plus ADO Den Haag, where he started his senior career.
Ebuehi is represented by former Feyenoord star Wessel Weezenberg who also looks after Super Eagles first-choice goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.
