Agent clears the air surrounding future of Bologna striker Okwonkwo amid Reggina link
Published: June 07, 2021British-based intermediary Femi Olaniran, the bona fide agent of Orji Okwonkwo, has cleared the air surrounding the future of the 2015 U17 World Cup-winning striker amid reports linking him with a second loan move to Reggina.
Italian media claims that Reggina are working on a deal to re-sign the former Golden Eaglets star in the summer transfer window following his brilliant performances in the second half of last season.
Though Olaniran has admitted there is interest from Reggina, Okwonkwo is unlikely to end up at Gli Amaranto when the transfer window closes for business.
"Okwonkwo is not going to Reggina for now but they are interested, " Olaniran of Quintessence Sports Management told allnigeriasoccer.com on Monday afternoon.
"We are working on other things for him, either a loan move or permanent deal but definitely not Reggina.
"I spoke to the sporting director of Reggina, Massimo Taibi and nothing was agreed.
"It's either he stays in Italy or moves abroad, we are taking to some teams in Italy, Denmark, France and Germany."
Okwonkwo has also enjoyed loan spells with Brescia and Montreal Impact since joining Bologna in 2016, a year after starring at the 2015 U17 World Cup.
The 23-year-old has made 30 appearances for Bologna's first team and has three goals to his name.
