Talented striker Fiabema on target to help Chelsea U23s end season with win
Published: May 07, 2021Bryan Fiabema was among the scorers as Chelsea U23s ended the 2020-2021 season with a 4-2 win against Blackburn Rovers in a Premier League 2 match at The County Ground Lancashire on Friday evening.
It was the first goal scored by the Norwegian-Nigerian striker in the division since October 24, 2020 when he found the net against Liverpool.
Fiabema came off the bench to replace the injured Sam McClelland in the 43rd minute with the score at 1-0 in favour of Chelsea.
Henry Lawrence scored his second of the game just before half-time, Sam Durrant reduced the deficit two minutes into the second half before Fiabema restored Chelsea's two-goal lead on 56 minutes.
Fiabema picked his spot, hit the target and the ball ended up in the back of the net after a fine assist from Harvey Vale.
The number 12 went thirteen matches without a goal in the Premier League 2 before today's clash against Blackburn Rovers but got on the scoresheet vs AFC Fylde in the FA Youth Cup last month.
Fiabema and his teammates have not had a bad campaign as they finished second in the Premier League 2 behind Manchester City.
