Snapped: Okonkwo, Balogun train with Arsenal first team in Valencia ahead of Newcastle tie
Published: April 30, 2021Arsenal began preparations for their Premier League meeting with Newcastle United with a training session held in Valencia on Friday morning, following last night's slender loss to Villarreal.
It is now confirmed that Folarin Balogun traveled with the squad to Spain as he was pictured by the official website of Arsenal in the training photos.
The Hale End Academy product was omitted from the gameday squad against the Yellow Submarine in what would have been his seventh squad involvement for the first team.
Balogun has yet to make his Premier League debut for the Gunners although he was in attendance at the Emirates Stadium as the '21st player' in last week's loss to Everton.
Manager Mikel Arteta also observed another teenager of Nigerian descent in Arthur Okonkwo during the workout in Valencia.
The goalkeeper was in the matchday 23 against Villarreal to provide backup to goalkeepers Bernd Leno and Mathew Ryan.
Arsenal will face Newcastle United at St. James' Park on Sunday, starting from 1400 hours.
