Two teenagers of Nigerian descent involved in Arsenal final training session before trip to Villarreal
Published: April 28, 2021Two Nigeria-eligible teenagers in the shape of Folarin Balogun and Arthur Okonkwo were both involved in Arsenal's final workout on English soil before their trip to Villarreal for tomorrow's Europa League clash against the La Liga side.
While Balogun has been training with the first team in the last few days, goalkeeper Okonkwo was the novelty in the training session at London Colney.
Okonkwo had been in the treatment room due to an undisclosed ailment and has been left out of the squad for Arsenal's last two matches in the Premier League 2.
Aged nineteen, the goalkeeper's first squad involvement for the first team was against Olympiakos at the Emirates Stadium last month.
Arsenal have not registered Iceland star Rúnar Alex Rúnarsson for the knockout rounds of the Europa League, thereby pushing Okonkwo higher up the pecking order of goalkeepers but behind Bernd Leno and Mathew Ryan.
Meanwhile, Samuel Chukwueze is set to be named in Villarreal's matchday squad having participated in their last training session before tomorrow's big game at the Estadio de la Cerámica .
