Osimhen displays example of his speed, sprints forward from his own half to score vs Torino
Published: April 26, 2021
Nigeria international Victor Osimhen is beginning to enjoy his football at Napoli after previously struggling with injuries.
The 2015 U17 World Cup Golden Boot winner endured a slow start to his career at Napoli, netting just two goals in his first sixteen appearances across all competitions.
The Super Eagle was on target to help Napoli secure a 2-0 win over Torino at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on Monday evening.
With thirteen minutes in, Gennaro Gattuso's men were two goals to the good with Osimhen doubling the advantage.
The number 9's goal was an example of the speed he possesses; he shrugged off a challenge, found himself in a 1v1 situation and slotted past goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu after sprinting forward from his own half.
Osimhen, who was cautioned on 69 minutes, made way for Andrea Petagna with ten minutes left on the clock.
Following their win, Napoli are now level on 66 points with third-placed AC Milan before their next game against Cagliari on May 2.
