Published: April 15, 2021Slavia Prague's tremendous UEFA Europa League run came to an end in the quarterfinals following their 4-0 defeat suffered at the hands of Arsenal at the Sinobo Stadium on Thursday night.
Of the three Nigeria-eligible players named in the matchday squads, two in the shape of Peter Olayinka and Folarin Balogun tasted action, with the Nigeria international going the full ninety and the England youth international playing the last four minutes.
The pressure was really on Arsenal and their season much on the line before the second leg after they were held to a 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium a week ago.
However, the Gunners players rose to the occasion to ensure the result was never in doubt, they were in cruise control from early in the match.
Three goals in half a dozen first half minutes from Nicolas Pepe, a penalty from Alexandre Lacazette and from Bukayo Saka gave the north London club an unassailable lead, before Lacazette added Arsenal's fourth and his second of the night thirteen minutes from the end.
Olayinka was booked in the 63rd minute following a VAR review.
Arsenal join Manchester United, AS Roma and Villarreal in the last four, they will face the Spanish side in the next round.
