Leicester City striker Iheanacho finally shows up in camp ahead of Super Eagles Wednesday workout
Published: March 24, 2021
Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has the full complement of players he has called up for his side's upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against the Republic of Benin and Lesotho, with the arrival of Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho on Wednesday morning.
Iheanacho was expected to arrive in Lagos on Tuesday but couldn't join the team after suffering a flight delay.
The former Manchester City star, the most in-form attacker on the Super Eagles roster, will be monitored at close quarters by Gernot Rohr and his coaching staff in today's workout at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
In their first rehearsal on grass at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Tuesday, Rohr focused on the players' physique.
The Super Eagles players did jogging, running and stretching exercises before wrapping up the session with a practice match, where the pitch was split into two.
Goalkeepers Maduka Okoye, Francis Uzoho and John Noble carried out a personalized session under the guidance of Super Eagles goalkeeping coach Alloy Agu during the workout.
