PSV Eindhoven Winger Madueke Faces Spell On The Sidelines
Published: January 25, 2021PSV Eindhoven's Nigerian winger Nonso Madueke faces a spell on the sidelines after picking up a muscle-related injury in the first half of the 2-0 win over RKC Waalwijk last weekend.
The former Tottenham Hotspur youth-teamer had to make way for Donyell Malen in the 23rd minute.
Madueke will undergo an MRI scan today to determine the severity of his injury and duration on the sidelines.
Whilst the seriousness of the injury has not yet been ascertained, PSV manager Roger Schmidt told reporters at Monday's press conference that the winger will certainly not be fit for tomorrow's Eredivisie clash at Emmen and he is doubtful for the big clash against Feyenoord on January 31.
Madueke is having a breakout season at PSV, so much so that he is being monitored by Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr ahead of a possible invitation to the Super Eagles in future.
The 18-year-old has directly participated in 16 goals (8 goals, 8 assists) from 24 matches in all competitions for PSV so far this season.
