Bayern Munich's Musiala Voted Bundesliga Newcomer Of The Year
Published: December 28, 2020Jamal Musiala's 2020 has ended on a positive note with the attacking midfielder voted the Bundesliga Newcomer of the Year by readers of influential German newspaper Bild.
The England U21 international, who is on the radar of the German Football Association and Nigeria Football Federation, emerged as the clear winner in the poll, with 91 percent of the readers choosing him as the Best Newcomer.
Musiala placed first ahead of former Manchester City winger Leroy Sane (4 percent) and Costa (2 percent).
Recruited from Chelsea in the summer of 2019, the highly-rated teenager is expected to sign his first professional contract in the coming months.
Musiala made his first team debut for Bayern Munich in a Bundesliga clash against SC Freiburg on June 20, 2020, becoming the youngest player to feature for the Bavarians in the league aged 17 years and 115 days.
This season, he debuted for Bayern in the UEFA Champions League, DFB Pokal and DFL Super Cup.
Musiala has played 16 games for Bayern Munich to date, scoring three goals.
