Manager Gernot Rohr has led the Super Eagles to the World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations with matches to spare during the qualifiers and he's confident that he can repeat the feat in 2021 AFCON qualifying.
Nigeria might have qualification sewn up as early as next week if they win their double-header against Sierra Leone and a victory and a draw may suffice if other results go their way.
Rohr didn't want to take the credit alone and has praised the players and his assistants for his almost flawless qualification for major tournaments since his appointment as coach.
"Desire to win our games and since the beginning we were in this direction, we are sometimes lucky to win our first games but I think the determination of the staff, of the team is giving us this opportunity to be ready," Rohr said when quizzed on the strategy he deploys during qualifiers.
"Tomorrow won't be easy but if we start with nine points in three games, even a draw in Sierra Leone could be enough but we go all the time for winning the games. "

Rohr revealed that a video session previewing the clash against Sierra Leone had to be repeated on Thursday because some players reported late for international duty.
"It won't be easy, we showed already a video to our players but unfortunately some of our players arrived only yesterday night so we have to do it again this morning.
"We will not underrate this team, our tradition is to be qualified with games to spare, we want to continue in this tradition."

Three-time African champions Nigeria have won their last three matches against their next opponents, Sierra Leone.
