Watford's Nigeria U23 international Tom Dele-Bashiru faces at least six months on the sidelines after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury during the first half of the 1-0 loss to Reading in a Championship clash on Saturday.
The Manchester City Academy product had to be replaced after 37 minutes and tests have confirmed the club and fan's worst fears, with the central midfielder set to undergo surgery before the end of this week.
Tom Dele-Bashiru was naturally disappointed that his season has been cut short by injury on his full league debut for the Hornets.
"I’m obviously disappointed to be injured but my recovery starts now, and I’ll be working hard to come back stronger and to get back as soon as possible to help the team, hopefully towards the end of the season," Dele-Bashiru told Watford's official webpage.
"When I went down the first time, I could feel something, but I didn't think it was bad and I felt okay to carry on. The second time I knew it was bad."

The recovery time for an ACL injury is between seven to nine months but some players could return to action after six months.
