Chelsea's Nigerian Goalkeeper Faces Two Months On The Sidelines After Meniscus Surgery
Published: September 09, 2020
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that former Golden Eaglets invitee Prince Adegoke will not make his competitive debut for Chelsea in the U18 Premier League when they take on Brighton & Hove on Saturday morning.
The 2003-born goalkeeper underwent surgery on Wednesday after tearing his meniscus during the warmup of last weekend's pre-season friendly against Crystal Palace at Cobham.
Adegoke had a pre-existing injury he suffered in training and aggravated it just before the match against the Eagles.
His surgery went well and and he is expected to spend between two to three months on the sidelines if his rehabilitation goes according to plan.
Chelsea's medics have been praised for doing a fantastic job as they took care of the Nigerian youngster within a week after he suffered the injury.
Adegoke was snapped up by The Blues in 2016 after he was spotted playing for
the U12 team of Hellenic League Division One East club Langley FC.
He first made the bench for Chelsea U18s for a competitive match at the age of fourteen.
