Napoli Coach Gattuso Mentions Two Attributes Of His New Number 9 Osimhen
Published: August 25, 2020Napoli coach Gennaro Gattuso has started running the rule over the club's record acquisition,Victor Osimhen at the pre-season training camp in in Castel di Sangro.
The 2006 World Cup-winning midfielder has preferred a 4-3-3 system since his appointment as coach of the Blues but hinted at Tuesday afternoon's press conference that he could tweak his formation with the arrival of the Nigerian.
Gattuso mentioned two key attributes of his new number 9, Osimhen that can help him to thrive in the demanding Italian Serie A.
"Victor Osimhen is a player who allows us to play differently. We can change our style of play with him in the side," Gattuso told reporters.
"He knows how to attack space and has a real physical presence".
On the second day of rehearsal ahead of the 2020-2021 season, the Napoli players including Osimhen did some technical and tactical work and had a training match on a reduced-size pitch.
The Nigeria national-teamer is in line to make his non-competitive debut for the Azzurri when they
take part in a three-team friendly tournament featuring Aquila and
Castel di Sangro on August 28.
