What Is Next For Highly-Rated Wolverhampton Wanderers Midfielder Otasowie After UEL Snub
Published: August 11, 2020Owen Otasowie was conspicuously missing from Wolverhampton Wanderers Europa League matchday squad on Tuesday evening, and thus the youngster's future set to come under scrutiny any time from now, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Having made his senior team debut for the Premier League club this season in the Europa League against Besiktas, it was highly envisaged that the talented midfielder will go on to play an important part for Nuno Espirito Santo's side but then he has only had to make do with bench roles in league games against Sheffield United, Liverpool and Watford.
It is quite surprising that he has yet to get games under his belt, given the trust and regard the club's hierarchy had in him when he was handed a new two-and-a-half year deal back in January 2020, a contract which if honoured will keep him under contract until June 2022.
That he is talented enough to make the grade in English football is not in doubt however, as a number of Football League clubs are reportedly willing to prize him away from the Molineux and end his misery.
Regarded as one of the most talented teens to emerge from the club's academy, Wolves Sporting director Kevin Thelwell had once described Otasowie as a 'big professional with technical ability and physical potential' and it will be a huge shame if he unfortunately fails to hit these heights.
But yet, it is still too early to put pressure on the tender shoulders of a teenager who is still learning the ropes of his profession in a rather tedious and demanding league.
