CIES : Cologne's Ehizibue Is Top Tackler In Bundesliga; Paderborn's Collins Top Interceptor
Published: June 02, 2020CIES Football Observatory has revealed the players with the best statistics during the current German Bundesliga season for eight different indicators and two Nigerian fullbacks came top in two categories.
The pacy Cologne right-back Kingsley Ehizibue, who was named in Nigeria's squad for the postponed Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone, led the way in most successful tackles for the matches played until May 28th, 2020.
The former Netherlands U21 international, the third fastest player in Bundesliga history, has started 24 league games, was a substitute on two occasions and has totaled 1,917 minutes of game time.
With 48 tackles, Ehizibue ranked first ahead of Sebastian Rudy (Hoffenheim) and Bastian Oczipka (Schalke 04).
SC Paderborn left-back Collins is the top man in the whole of the Bundesliga when it comes to interceptions with 62, followed by Schalke 04's Omar Mascarell (62) and Bayer Leverkusen's Sven Bender (61).
The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations star has been involved in 25 Bundesliga matches - all from the start - logging 2,219 minutes.
