Gernot Rohr has seen his bid to remain at the helm of the Super Eagles reap dividends in recent weeks, as the NFF and the Franco-German's party are all but set to put finish touches to his latest contract.
While this development is understandably a welcome one judging his decent stint with the national team since taking charge in 2016, there can be no hiding that there is always room for improvement even in the best of situations.
Allnigeriasoccer.com draws up three things the 66-year-old would be giving serious thought as he looks to qualify the team for the 2021 AFCON as well as the upcoming World Cup.
1) Maintaining competency in every position is the key: Super Eagles fans have been testament to the fact that the national team have imbibed some level of competition to every department, and ensuring such will be relevant to any big thing the group will achieve.
Rohr and his crew must make certain that every position has capable deputies waiting on the wings to fill in, in case of any loss of form, injuries or managerial lapses.
2) More high-profile friendlies will do: Nigeria came out with their heads held high in recent big games versus Ukraine and Brazil, and such clashes are undoubtedly viewed as one which will not only improve the team's confidence and technicality, but as well boost their profile.
Organising such type of games against top footballing teams like France, Italy, Portugal, England or Germany, to mention but a few, will be a welcome one.
There have been shouts about NPFL players getting equal chances with the foreign pros, and this is one he would have to give serious thoughts to.
A prolific goal scorer in the Nigerian top-flight, or a very good midfielder should be given the chances to train alongside or even experience competitive atmosphere with their foreign counterparts.

3) Every impressing player should be able be getting a fair chance: And then, it is important the team selectors afford every deserving player a chance to wear the green.
