Out of favour Nigeria international Brown Aide Ideye on Saturday gave thumbs up to Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr who is expected to sign a new contract with the Nigeria Football Federation.
"The boys have a bond (with the coach) and I pray they win trophies because that's the highpoint of playing football," Ideye noted.
Ideye who was once a player in the Nigeria Professional Football League side Ocean Boys FC also spoke on why Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) players do not always play well abroad when they leave the shores of Nigeria.
"I do follow the NPFL but I don't like the change of the pitches from natural to artificial ones.
"I know that's what they have, can afford but that is why players leave the league back home and get to Europe and not all of them do well because the artificial stadiums end them giving you all sorts of injuries like back, knee or joint pains.
"That's why when you get to Europe you will find things difficult. Its not rocket science, you will find things difficult when you get to Europe," Ideye stressed.
The striker whose Greek side Aris played in the group stages of the Europa League then disclosed how he keeps fit during the lockdown in Greece due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
"Everyone is on lockdown. I know by the grace of God, it will be over soon. My condolences to everyone who lost their loved ones.
On staying beyond the one year period left on his contract, Ideye said:
"Greece is a nice place as you can testify. In football, you live by the day. I have one more year in my contract. When the contract ends, I will sit down with my family and decide. I can speak the language a bit although it's a little tricky," the skilful forward enthused.
Rohr's contract ends in June 2020 with uncertainties over his time with the Nigerian national team but Ideye who was a key member of the Super Eagles that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations under late coach Stephen Keshi hailed the present team handled by Rohr in an interview with Smooth FM monitored by allnigeriasoccer.com.
"Gernot Rohr is doing a very good job. They (current Super Eagles) have a very young team and when you have that kind of young team they will be strong.

"We have to keep fit. It's our job. We have this WhatsApp group and the club normally write a programme for us on that platform to keep up to shape.
"We hope that soon things will come back to as its to be. I play video games a lot, follow the training regimes," Ideye further told the Smooth FM crew on Instagram Live.
