Glasgow Rangers Midfielder Aribo Watched By Chelsea Scouts In Europa League Cash Vs Bayer
Published: March 16, 2020Nigeria international Joe Aribo missed an opportunity to show off his best qualities during Glasgow Rangers 3-1 loss to Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday, March 12.
Not being at his best against the German Bundesliga side is something he's bound to regret, with the Daily Express reporting that Chelsea talent spotters were among the 47,494 spectators at Ibrox Stadium.
The English newspaper has suggested that the Chelsea scouts in attendance paid special attention to Bayer Leverkusen's Jamaica winger Leon Bailey, who wrapped up the scoring in the 88th minute.
Aribo has shown his versatility since his move to Rangers last summer, having played as a left-back, central midfielder, attacking midfielder, left winger and defensive midfielder.
The former Charlton Athletic man has played an astonishing 48 matches for Rangers in all competitions this season, with fourteen of them coming in Europe, which may have contributed to him being out of sorts against Bayer Leverkusen and was replaced seven minutes into the second half.
Should he leave Rangers before the expiration of his contract in June 2023, the most logical thing is for him to join an English Premier League club.
