'He's Got A Big Reputation' - Chelsea's Nigerian Midfielder Hailed On Premier League Debut
Published: March 08, 2020Chelsea have tightened their grip on fourth position in the English Premier League following their comfortable 4-0 victory over Everton at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Frank Lampard's team were 2-0 up at the break thanks to efforts from Mason Mount and Pedro.
And early in the second half, the Blues were out of sight, scoring through Willian and Olivier Giroud in the space of three minutes.
With victory all but assured, Lampard introduced Nigerian midfielder Faustino Anjorin in the 71st minute as replacement for Brazil star Willian for his Premier League debut.
Speaking during commentary of the game for the world feed, Jim Proudfoot hailed the qualities of Anjorin and compared him to another Chelsea Academy product in Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
"Five Academy products were on the bench today and of course they had the likes of Mason Mount and Gilmour in the starting line-up as well," said Proudfoot.
"He's got a big reputation Tino Anjorin, he's only 18 but reminiscent in playing style in many ways of Ruben Loftus-Cheek but I reckon he's going to be even better than him."
