Manchester United's Nigerian Whizkid Compared To Super Eagles Legend Jay-Jay Okocha
Published: March 06, 2020Manchester United wonderkid Shola Shoretire has received tons of praise from the English media on the back of his imperious displays for the youth teams of the Red Devils.
The 2004-born striker is still on schoolboy terms at the Old Trafford outfit but has emerged as a key player for the U18 team despite his small stature.
Blessed with a a repertoire of skills, Shoretire has been compared to former Super Eagles captain Austin Okocha by The Sun.
Regarded then as one of the best dribblers in the world, Okocha lit up the English Premier League with his breathtaking skills and Shoretire is being tipped to follow in the footsteps of the former Bolton Wanderers playmaker.
The two-footed teenager is comfortable playing as a winger, attacking midfielder and striker.
Manchester United have been wise to offer him a scholarship and professional contract ahead of the 2020-2021 season, with several European clubs preparing to swoop for him in the summer transfer window.
The 16-year-old caught the attention of the global media in December 2018 after becoming the youngest player in history to represent Manchester United in the UEFA Youth League.
Shoretire has been on the books of Manchester United since the age of ten.
