Lille Coach Gives Barcelona, Real Madrid, Liverpool Hope In Pursuit Of Osimhen
Published: March 02, 2020
European giants not limited to Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Victor Osimhen with Lille coach Christophe Galtier suggesting that the Nigeria international will be forced to listen to offers from interested clubs in the summer transfer window.
The 2015 U17 World Cup winner has taken the Ligue 1 by storm in his first full season, having a hand in 18 goals (13 goals, 5 assists) in 26 appearances and on the back of his form he is being linked with a summer departure.
Lille president Gerard Lopez has assured that Osimhen is going nowhere next season, except for circumstances beyond his control, but Galtier has a different opinion.
Speaking at the post-match conference after yesterday's road win against Nantes, Galtier told reporters : "Victor said he wanted to stay here next season.
"He's a sincere boy, he's happy here. He is appreciated, adored by supporters.
"Afterwards, if in a few weeks big teams arrive with an interest in him, he will be forced to listen. It is the logic of things".
Osimhen has roughly four years remaining on his contract with Lille, whom he joined from Sporting Charleroi in August 2019.
