'He Went In With Both Feet' - Club Brugge's Dennis insists Man Utd GK Should Have Been Sent Off
Published: February 21, 2020Manchester United have done half of the job in their quest to qualify for the round of 16 of the Europa League after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Club Brugge at Jan Breydelstadion on Thursday evening.
Anthony Martial's brilliant solo goal in the 36th minute cancelled out Emmanuel Dennis' opener in the 15th minute.
Nigeria international Emmanuel Dennis has sent a warning to a Manchester United team with Odion Ighalo in the ranks ahead of next week's second leg, saying that Club Brugge remain firmly on track to advance to the next round despite the disappointing draw.
"I always try to score when I get the chance. Sometimes it works out well, and sometimes it doesn't," Dennis told Club Brugge's official website.
"I just want to score goals for the team. But I'm not happy with how the game went. More was in it.
"More was in it. We wanted the win, but didn't succeed. We now have to work towards that second leg at Old Trafford.
"Everything's possible in football, we will see what happens there".

One of the talking points of the game was the referee's decision not to award a penalty to Club Brugge in the fourth minute after goalkeeper Sergio Romero's rough tackle on the Super Eagles striker.
Reacting to the incident, the Club Brugge number 42 said : "We had some fine chances in the first half. And then there was that penalty situation right at the start of the game, but the VAR didn't budge.
"I though it was a red card, as he went in with both feet hitting me right on the leg. He definitely did not touch the ball,'' added Dennis.
