Arsenal Face Losing Exciting Teenager Saka If They Fail To Qualify For European Competition
Published: February 20, 2020Arsenal are battling to tie down exciting teenager Bukayo Saka to a new deal amid interest from Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester United, and German champions Bayern Munich.
According to the Times UK, the Gunners face losing the versatile teenager if they fail to qualify for either the Champions League or Europa League.
Saka has performed brilliantly since forcing his way into the first team, making 28 appearances in total since debuting against Vorskla Poltava in November 2018.
Playing in Europe has been beneficial for the Hale End Academy product and he wants to continue facing the best players on the continent.
With twelve games left before the end of the 2019-2020 season, Mikel Arteta's team sit in tenth place with 34 points, seven less than Chelsea who occupy the last Champions League spot.
Another route to Champions League qualification for Arsenal is by winning the Europa League and they can qualify for next season's Europa League if they lift the FA Cup or finish fifth or sixth in the Premier League.
The 18-year-old Saka has sixteen months left on his current deal with Arsenal.
