The Reason Ighalo Has Been Left Out Of Manchester United's Training Camp In Spain
Published: February 08, 2020Former Nigeria international Odion Ighalo has been left out of Manchester United's training camp in Spain.
The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations top scorer completed a move to the Red Devils on transfer deadline day last month and as a precautionary measure, he will remain in Manchester, where he will undergo a special fitness regime to get in shape.
Manchester United fear that Ighalo won't be allowed to enter the United Kingdom should he travel to Spain with the squad as he has been in China within the past fourteen days.
Speaking to United's official webpage, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stated : "Odion will stay in Manchester, because he arrived from China in the last 14 days.
"Because of the situation in China, we're not sure if he'd be allowed back into England if he leaves the country again, so he's staying here working with a personal coach, individual programme and his family then can settle in England as well. That's a plus.
"Of course he might have liked to have come with the players and got to know them, but the risk [of potential border restrictions tightening], we don’t want to take that."

Manchester United are holding a training camp in Spain as part of their preparations for the next Premier League match vs Chelsea on February 17 and the Europa League meeting against Club Brugge.
