Manchester United came back from two goals down to beat Newcastle United 5-2 in an U18 Premier League match on Saturday afternoon with Nigerian striker Dillon Hoogewerf netting his first brace for the Old Trafford outfit.

Hoogewerf started his sevenh consecutive game for the Red Devils U18s; his teammates Ayodeji Sotona and Shola Shoretire entered the fray in the 68th and 86th minute respectively with the latter replacing the number nine.

The Magpies led 2-0 after 32 minutes through goals from Josh Gilchrist and Dylan Stephenson.

Manchester United were back in business in the 37th minute as one of the shortest players on the pitch Hoogewerf, with pinpoint precision, powered home a header to make it 2-1.

Nine minutes into the second half, the former Ajax Amsterdam wonderkid completed the turnaround when he found the net with a close range effort from six yards.

Sotona almost scored with his first touch after replacing the injured Mark Helm but his shot was blocked on the line with the Newcastle United goalkeeper beaten.

The pacy winger was involved in the build-up for United's fourth goal in the 74th minute, rolling the ball back to Anthony Elanga who scored with a low finish and the Swede struck again a minute later to complete the scoring.
