The Reason Why Chelsea Could Recall Ugbo From Loan Spell At Dutch Club Roda
Published: October 01, 2019Chelsea loanee Ike Ugbo is living off his savings at Dutch second tier club Roda JC and could have his loan deal terminated before it expires at the end of the 2019-2020 season.
The former England U17 international is on a monthly salary of 48,000 euros, with his parent club transferring 43,000 euros to Roda every month while the balance is contributed by the Dutch club.
Roda have a mismatch of expenditure and income and as a result the money transferred by Chelsea intended to pay Ugbo last month has been used to pay the other players in the squad without the consent of the Nigerian.
Now the Express UK is reporting that Chelsea were aware of the situation and were launching an investigation and Ugbo could be recalled if the terms of the loan agreement have been breached.
The 21-year-old who scored goals aplenty for Chelsea's youth teams has embarked on his fourth loan spell after previously playing for Barnsley, Milton Keynes Dons and Scunthorpe United.
Despite uncertainty over his future at Roda, Ugbo has been in the best form since turning professional, scoring four goals in his last six games in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.
