Chelsea In Talks With Nigerian Duo Over New Five-Year Contracts
Published: September 19, 2019According to the Guardian UK, Premier League side Chelsea have opened talks with two Nigeria-eligible players over a new contract.
The Blues are in discussions with Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori and both players will commit their future to the Stamford Bridge outfit until the end of the 2023-2024 season if terms are agreed.
While Abraham is contracted to Chelsea until June 2022, Tomori's contract runs out in the summer of 2021.
The two 21-year-olds were brought into the first team fold by manager Frank Lampard following the transfer ban slammed on Chelsea for breaching rules about signing minors.
Abraham has shown his quality in the new season and the striker netted his first Premier League hat-trick against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend to take his tally to seven goals.
Tomori has forced his way into the Chelsea starting line-up despite competing with more experienced central defenders, starting each of the last three games played by the club in all competitions.
Abraham will reportedly double his £50,000-a-week wages by penning a new five-year deal with Chelsea.
