Petr Cech, Ashley Cole Watch Nigerian Midfielder Score Two Goals For Chelsea In UEFA Youth League
Published: September 17, 2019Nigeria-eligible midfielder Faustino Anjorin announced his arrival to the world with a brace for Chelsea in their 3-3 draw with Valencia on matchday one in the UEFA Youth League on Tuesday afternoon.
According to well informed Twitter account Chelsea Youth and Football.London's Chelsea correspondent Oliver Harbord, Chelsea legends Petr Cech, Claude Makelele, Paulo Ferreira, Carlo Cudicini and Ashley Cole were among the spectators that watched today's clash at Cobham Training Centre.
Hugo Gonzalez opened the scoring in the ninth minute but Valencia's lead lasted only four minutes as Anjorin restored parity from the penalty spot after a defender handled a pass from the Nigerian.
However, the Spanish side were back in front again through Koba Koindredi on 23 minutes only for Anjorin to equalise for Chelsea with another well-taken spot kick nine minutes before half-time.
Just past the hour mark, Broja scored for the two-time champions to make it 3-2, before the lively Anjorin was replaced in the 72nd minute.
An 84th minute strike from Koindredi, his second of the game, made sure of a point for Valencia.
The 17-year-old Anjorin has been in great goalscoring form since the start of this season and his brace against Valencia took his tally to five goals (three assists) in seven games across all competitions.
Meanwhile, Ola Aina's brother Jordan was omitted from Chelsea's match day 18.
