Chelsea youth-teamer Adrian Akande is expected to resume training with the Golden Eaglets at their get-together in Abuja as from tomorrow, April 4, allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report.
The 2003-born winger was with the Nigerian U17s squad for one week but had to return to England on Sunday as he had to sit for an examination on Tuesday.
Akande is flying back to Nigeria tonight and he'll be in Abuja tomorrow morning, based on his travel itinerary.
Labelled the 'new Eden Hazard', Akande is one of the most expensive preteens ever signed by Chelsea, with Crystal Palace pocketing £150,000 from his sale to the Stamford Bridge outfit when the player was aged 12.
British Football's most expensive 13-year-old, Finley Burns was signed by Manchester City from Southend in January 2017 for a fee of £175,000.
Nigeria Football Federation President, Amaju Pinnick played a key role in convincing the precocious talent to commit his international future to Nigeria over England after holding talks with the player's camp.
Akande is expected to undergo a MRI test this week and is in contention to be named to the Golden Eaglets provisional roster for the U17 AFCON.
