Flying Eagles goalkeeper Olawale Oremade is optimistic that the national U-23 Eagles, Dream Team VII will get past Sudan in the next round of qualifiers to the 2019 CAF U-23 AFCON in Egypt.
Oremade however has another wish when as expected the Eagles scale past the Sudanese hurdle - meeting Mali at the U-23 AFCON in November.
Mali defeated Nigeria 4-3 on penalties after 1-1 at regulation time in the semifinals of the CAF U-20 AFCON at the Stade General Seyni Kountche in Niamey, Niger on 13 February 2019 to book a place in the final which they went on to win.
Oremade who was part of the Nigeria U-23 team which overcame Libya with a 4-2 aggregate win after thrashing the North Africans 4-0 in Asaba on Monday spoke with allnigeriasoccer.com.
"Sudan is the next opponent, there's no problem about that because we are not afraid of any team.
"I'm not being cocky but I think we have a team good enough to face anybody in Africa.
"My wish is that we win that one and get to play against Mali at the AFCON in November. I have not forgotten the semifinals loss to them in Niger (at the U-20 AFCON)," the goalkeeper revealed.
The U-23 Eagles will travel to Khartoum for the first leg of their fixtures on June 5 and host their opponents on June 9 at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.
