Manchester City have been crowned champions of the U18 Premier League Cup after beating Middlesbrough 1-0 in the showpiece at the Riverside on Thursday evening.
The Citizens match day squad contained four Nigeria-eligible players in Felix Nmecha, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Gavin Bazunu and Oluwatimilehin Sobowale, with the first two players mentioned named in the starting line-up.
The first real chance of the game was created by Nmecha in the 11th minute when his superb cross was headed wide by Ben Knight.
Less than a minute after the intermission, the Hamburg-born midfielder put City in the lead, firing home from a tight angle.
The number ten and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru put in a full shift for the Citizens while Sobowale and goalkeeper Bazunu watched proceedings from the bench for the entirety of the game.
Lukas Nmecha has been named in England U19s latest squad for international games this month, Bazunu has been called up by Republic of Ireland U21s coach.
