Samuel Kalu Names The Super Eagles Player That Gave Him Valuable Advice After Mom's Kidnap
Published: March 10, 2019Bordeaux star Samuel Kalu has revealed that he received valuable advice from Chelsea hero John Obi Mikel following the kidnap of his mom on February 27, Nigerian journalist Colin Udoh has informed.
In the past, Mikel had been in the same boat as the winger, with his father kidnapped on two occasions, the first in 2011 when he was abducted from his home in Jos and the second happened during the 2018 World Cup.
Although Mikel continued to play for Chelsea (2011) and Nigeria (2018) despite his personal trauma, the kidnap ordeal prevented Kalu from playing for Bordeaux against Montpellier on Tuesday, March 5.
''I spoke to Samuel Kalu today. Says he is trying to heal from the trauma of his mum’s kidnapping. Had not trained in 5 days,'' stated Colin Udoh on Wednesday.
''Credits @mikel_john_obi for giving him valuable advice, thanks Rohr for being by his side all through and says he will be ready for @NGSuperEagles games.''
Samuel Kalu played the last 29 minutes of Bordeaux's 1-1 draw at Monaco on Saturday evening.
